Bonia Corporation Bhd. is an international luxury fashion retailer based in Malaysia which has more than 700 sales outlets across Asia. It markets footwear, pizzazz leatherwear and accessories.

In 2020, Bonia reached out to the agency I was working at for a corporate rebranding. The deliverables included a corporate brand book, packaging design, web, and social media assets.

The brief-
Our objective was to come up with a complete refresh of Bonia's e-commerce and Facebook platforms, starting with an overhaul of their brand catalog.
For this digital overhaul, we wanted to take BONIA from a brand that was perceived as slightly dated in Malaysia, so a brand that was chic, dreamy, and reminiscent of the seaside getaway of one's dreams.

The visual identity
The initial BONIA colours consisted of earthy tones. In this lighthearted, yet luxurious refresh, the client had a preference for vermillion, gold, and green. Therefore, the challenge was to elevate this brand without making it seem seasonal. We achieved this by exploring various different shades, and eventually came to the dreamy conclusion of balancing bold colours with eggshell pink and sage hues, accompanied by chic, clear, serif fonts.

UI Considerations
The digital overhaul consisted of a new landing page, and an update to BONIA's existing pages on an e-commerce platform. We took care to not clutter the space with information, and maintain a clean and clear layout. We also made good use of photography to give the impression of an online photobook.
